Glen Fekula, athletic director at Balfour for the past 20 years, has had a strong desire to celebrate the great tradition of Balfour athletics. He feels it is very important for current and future students to understand and recognize all that has been accomplished by Balfour student athletes that have competed for the school over the past 75 years. He believes it would also provide motivation for current and future students to pursue similar goals. He has initiated the creation and development of the Balfour Athletic Hall. It is located in an excellent and very visible location in the hallway just outside the gymnasium. The official opening of the hall was performed on the afternoon of Saturday, October 8, 2005 during the 75th anniversary weekend. A fundraising initiative aimed at the continued development of the athletic hall itself, as well as additional funding to be directed to permanent improvement of various aspects of Balfour’s athletic facilities, was also incorporated into this 75th anniversary initiative. Inclusion to the athletic hall for former Balfour Redmen athletes will be allowed under the following criteria:
1. All former students who were named as the outstanding graduating athletes over the past 75 years.
2. Any Balfour athlete who continued to play a sport after graduation from Balfour with a college, university, or professional team, examples include CFL teams, the Regina Rams junior football club, the Regina Pats hockey club, or any of hundreds of college or university teams around North America.
