Aboriginal Advocacy

We support and enhance the high school experience of First Nations, Metis and Inuit students through academic advising, tutorial support, post secondary planning and cultural awareness.

What we do

  • Support all learners in gaining an awareness and understanding of First Nations, Metis and Inuit cultures and ways of knowing.
  • Provide transition support for students entering and exiting high school.
  • Provide support by working closely with Elders, Guidance Counsellors, Teachers, Principal and Vice-Principal.
  • Deliver temporary and/or long term tutorial support.

Elder in Residence Program

We are fortunate to work with 3 Elders this year:

Norma Jean Byrd - Mondays & Fridays (SSSC)

Frank Cauldwell - Fridays

The Elders are available to work in the classrooms to support students and teachers while also offering individual support as requested.

Drum Group

Jayson Littletent joins us on Fridays at noon for lunch, visiting, singing & drumming.  Everyone welcome!
